With over 90 percent of Americans living within five miles of a retail pharmacy, it is important for clinics to have access to vaccines that help protect consumers and communities against vaccinepreventable diseases,” says Stacy Kearney Bucha, General Manager at VaxServe.

A subsidiary of Sanofi Vaccines, VaxServe is a specialty vaccine distributor dedicated to ensuring immunizers have an adequate supply of preventable-disease medications. It helps medical practices and clinics ward off illnesses in their demographic by offering contract fulfillment across most vaccine manufacturers, including a one-stop shop experience for their immunization programs.

The company helps customers realize efficiencies along the clinical, financial and operational aspects of their immunization programs by focusing support in the areas of contract fulfillment, operations and workflow, data and analytics, and immunization advocacy. To ensure a never-replenishing stock of vaccines, VaxServe partners with some of the largest and fastest growing immunizers in the US. These collaborators include retail pharmacies, integrated health systems, employers, physician groups and hospitals, and private networks.

Active at over 65,000 US retail pharmacy locations, VaxServe helps customers achieve preventative health goals and quality metrics. VaxServe analyzes internal operations including purchase patterns, order frequencies, and returns to improve customer understanding of how to provide better immunization coverage to broader populations.

As an example, a longstanding large national retail pharmacy chain partnered closely with VaxServe to develop and execute a growth strategy for its influenza immunization program. Equipped with a deep understanding of the client’s business model and program goals, the specialty vaccine distributor collaborated on an approach that included a pharmacist/ patient education initiative about the importance of immunization. The approach also includes forecasting and demand modeling at the store-level based on previous usage levels. The collection and analysis of comparative data helped the customer streamline store-level operational efficiencies such as forecasting, ordering, usage, and shipping. Over the course of seven years, the client succeeded in growing their flu immunization program by over 500 percent.

In the case of large, organized customers, VaxServe aligns with their electronic data exchanges to streamline procurement and inventory management processes. Customers save time and reduce headcount in material procurement without compromising formulary, and improve overall program and budget management. As a result, clients can witness cost savings that are tightly oriented with their immunization objectives.

With over 90 percent of Americans living within five miles of a retail pharmacy, it is important for clinics to have access to vaccines that help protect consumers and communities against vaccine-preventable diseases

VaxServe aims to restore awareness of the important role immunization plays in safeguarding public health against vaccinepreventable diseases. When patients and medical professionals lose focus on the importance of certain vaccinations, it takes a commanding posture on the part of industry leaders to help them focus again on long-term value.

VaxServe is the only distributor in the US dedicated exclusively to vaccines, and its clients profit from both its unrivaled knowledge of customer logistics and operations including Sanofi's history as a pioneer in life sciences. To continue providing comprehensive immunization solutions to some of the biggest and rapidly rising immunizers, it will continue to use a white glove approach to focus on and understand a client’s unique business structure. In the long term, the company will strive to adapt to each evolution within the vaccine space and help customers achieve goals for their immunization programs.
